SCOPUS

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Emine Yalçın completed her Master’s Thesis on "Use of p(HEMA-MAH) Hydrogels Containing L-Histidine in the Purification of IgG from Human Serum and Determination of the Purity of Immunoglobulin G by HPLC" under the supervision of Prof. Dr. M. Yakup Arıca. She later pursued her PhD with a thesis titled "Investigation of Biosurfactant Production and Hydrocarbon Degradation by Microorganisms Isolated from Refinery Wastewater," advised by Prof. Dr. Aysun Ergene.

SUPERVISED DOCTORAL THESES:

Dr. Yalçın has supervised several doctoral theses, including Tuğçe Macar's research on biochemical and physiological parameters in genetically modified Zea mays L. seeds, Güray Demirtaş's study on physiological, anatomical, and cytogenetic changes in Allium cepa L. due to diethyl phthalate, and Burhan Durhan's investigation into the phytochemical content and biological functions of Amaranthus lividus extract.

SUPERVISED MASTER’S THESES:

Her supervision extends to master’s theses such as Elif Özen's work on the protective effects of green tea on biochemical parameters in 1,4-dioxane-treated albino rats, and Figen Çiçek’s research on fungal biodiesel production. Other notable theses include studies on UV-C radiation effects, paraben mutagenic activities, and the antioxidant activity of Smilax excelsa L. extracts.

PROJECTS AND RESEARCH DUTIES:

Dr. Yalçın has actively participated in numerous research projects. She served as a Research Assistant on projects such as the purification of immunoglobulin G using composite membranes and the investigation of the toxic effects of petroleum wastewater. Her project management roles include leading studies on the synthesis and characterization of polymeric microspheres and investigating the antioxidant activities of natural extracts.

COURSES TAUGHT:

Over the past two years, Dr. Yalçın has taught courses including Biochemistry I, with a focus on both theoretical and laboratory aspects. She has contributed to the academic development of students by providing rigorous training in biochemistry and related fields.
