Mr. François Galgani is an internationally recognized senior scientist specializing in oceanology, marine pollution, and environmental management, with a particular focus on marine litter and plastic pollution. With more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and an h-index of 60 (Scopus), his research has significantly advanced scientific understanding of microplastics, ecotoxicology, and marine monitoring strategies. He has played a leading role in shaping global and regional marine policies through long-standing collaborations with the European Commission, United Nations agencies, GESAMP, ICES, and regional sea conventions.
